If Your Life Was a Movie, What Would the Audience Be Screaming at You to Do?
If your life were a movie and you were the main character, there would be a moment where the music swells, the tension rises, and the audience leans forward.
They would not be quiet.
They would be shouting at the screen.
“Do it.”
“Start.”
“Stop waiting.”
“You are ready.”
For me, the message would be clear.
It is time to become what you have been preparing for.
For a long time, I lived in preparation mode.
I listened to the podcasts.
I read the books.
I studied the frameworks.
I made detailed plans.
I refined the vision.
I waited for clarity.
On the surface, it looked responsible. Disciplined. Intelligent.
But beneath it, something else was happening.
Preparation slowly turned into procrastination.
Not the lazy kind.
The sophisticated kind.
The kind that feels productive.
The kind that hides behind learning.
The kind that convinces you that the next book, the next article, the next framework will finally make you ready.
It never does.
Because readiness is not found in consuming more information.
It is found in choosing to act while still unsure.
Most of us do not delay because they lack knowledge.
They delay because action exposes them.
Action invites judgment.
Action makes failure visible.
Action threatens the identity we have built around potential.
So we keep learning.
We keep planning.
We keep preparing.
Not because we are not ready.
But because becoming requires letting go.
One of the most important lessons I am learning in this season of becoming is this.
Becoming the best version of yourself has very little to do with adding new things.
It has everything to do with subtracting.
Subtracting the fears you adopted from the world.
Subtracting the self doubt you internalized from past experiences.
Subtracting the imposter syndrome that tells you you are late, behind, or not enough.
Subtracting the voices that never belonged to you.
Along the way, we collect beliefs that are not ours.
Expectations that are not aligned.
Rules that were never written for us.
Becoming is the process of shedding them.
The version of you that you are becoming does not need more preparation.
It needs courage.
Courage to start before you feel ready.
Courage to move without guarantees.
Courage to be seen while still becoming.
This year, I am no longer waiting.
I am becoming.
Not perfectly.
Not loudly.
But deliberately.
And if there is one thing I know for certain, it is this.
Your life does not change when you finally feel confident.
It changes when you act despite the fear.
If your life were a movie and you were watching yourself on screen, what would the audience be screaming at you to do right now?
Start the thing.
Have the conversation.
Share the work.
Take the step.
Let go of the excuse.
The scene is already playing.
If this resonates with you, I created something for this exact season.
My book, It’s Time to Become, is not about motivation.
It is not about hustle.
It is not about adding more to your life.
It is a guide for subtraction.
For clarity.
For intentional becoming.
If you are done preparing and ready to begin, this book is for you.
The audience is waiting.
And so is the life you are meant to live.
Keep Shining.
